Well done you grooms and trainers! The 2017 Burghley Horse Trials was a great event for Britain’s riders, with Oliver Townsend and Ballaghmor Class emerging victorious on a score of 45.6 penalties. Second went to Piggy French and Vanir Kamira (46.9); a very close third to Gemma Tattersall and Artic Soul (47.0); and fourth to Tom McEwen and Toledo de Kerser (49.1).

The event was a great feature for Britain’s up and coming eventing horses, with Ballaghmor Class taking the top spot despite being only a relatively inexperienced 10yo. The ever-exciting Young Horse classes also showcased new talent: 4yo class winners Ginnie Turnbull and I Diablo Joe, and 5yo class winners Ireland’s Tracy Walshe and Poynstown Stonehaven, both producing scores in the high 80’s.

Not to be forgotten, our fledgling human talent was also on show at the Trials, as the Puckeridge Hunt Pony Club took first place in the Pony Club Team Jumping Under-18s Invitational. #goforgold #equinejob
