The results are in… Gemma Tattersall has won the 2017 Event Riders Masters series with a decisive 15pt lead over fellow Brit Sarah Cohen. Gemma competed in five of the seven legs of this year’s series, with wins coming at Chatsworth House (Leg 1) and Gatcombe Park (Leg 5). She now cannot be caught in the leaderboard and will be crowned this year’s champion at the last leg at Blenheim Palace on 15-16 September, along with receiving £30,000 in prize money.
Showing off the great string of horses Gemma now has, she competed four horses across the five legs: Quicklook V, Chico Bella P, Arctic Soul and new partner Pamero 4, who was produced by Laura Collett.
The win this year is the culmination of a long-term plan for Gemma, who decided to target the series at the end of 2016. “I had a plan of which horses I was hoping to ride at each leg, but I’ve had to be flexible as things often happen with horses to change the situation”, Gemma says of her win. “I am delighted how it’s panned out and how all the horses have all performed. This series makes us really compete. I don’t come to a leg just to canter round, I arrive with the aim to finish on the podium”. #goforgold #equinejob
