Assistant yard manager
We are a large, successful Hanoverian stud breeding and producing top level horses for dressage. We offer our horses for sale from four years of age and upwards when they are well established in their training and have successfully started their competitive careers. We have horses competing in young horse classes and from novice through to small tour. This is a great opportunity to work with some of the best British-bred dressage horses in the country. The main responsibility of this role is the day to day care and management of all the horses including the competition horses, mares, foals and youngstock. We do not stand any stallions. The horses are all well-handled with super temperaments. There are opportunities to groom at competitions and participate in other activities depending on skills and interests, for example, presenting mares and foals at shows and assisting the riders on the ground with the training of the horses. There are also opportunities to develop new skills and to take on wider responsibilities in the management of the yard. Because of the range of ages and work of the horses at the stud, there is variety in the role with opportunities to become involved in different aspects of the horses care and education. This is not a riding position, but if you are a competent enough rider there would be the opportunity to enjoy hacking out the horses with others. This role offers the right person the potential for development. We have first class facilities in a lovely environment. We have a super, friendly team and a very positive attitude on the yard. Accommodation is provided in a detached, centrally heated, fully furnished and equipped cottage.

Large oval horse walker, large fenced lunge arena, winter wood chip turnout pen and a 20m x 60m outdoor arena. Nearby turnout paddocks for stabled horses. Five large purpose-built barns with linked, outdoor woodchip pens for winter housing of mares and youngstock. 100 acres with woodland.
